Oct 4: PEMRA says it will cancel licences of TV channels if Indian content is aired as relations between Pakistan and India are tense following an attack on Indian garrison in New Delhi-administered Kashmir.
Oct 7: Three persons attack Aaj TV reporter in Pishin district of Balochistan after he aired a report about illegal business of vehicles in the area. The journalist received injuries and treated for wounds in Quetta. Police arrested three persons, including one attacker.

Oct 14: The government removes Cyril Almeida’s name from ECL after he was put on Exit Control List on October 11 following publication of his investigative story in Dawn newspaper on October 6.

Oct 29: Federal government removes Information Minister Senator Pervez Rashid over leaked Dawn newspaper story on divided opinion among state institutions about the national security. The government will investigate the leaked information through intelligence agencies.
Oct 31: PEMRA suspends landing rights of Nickelodeon TV after airing Indian content. Pakistan banned TV channels in Pakistan from airing any Indian content.
