June 02: Two unidentified men attacked Zeeshan Ali, an Iranian photojournalist, working for the Islamic Republic News Agency (IRNA) in Islamabad. He was taking shots depicting the observance of Ramazan in Pakistan, in Islamabad’s G-8 sector when armed men assaulted him and taken away his equipment at gunpoint.
June 2: Geo News investigative report Azaz Syed foiled attempt to kidnap him by motorists and a motorcyclist in Islamabad at 9.30pm in PS Shehzad Town area.
June 06: Lawyers allegedly thrash Junaid Shah and Waqas Aurangzeb, both reporters affiliated with private TV news channels, were beaten up and locked up for around half an hour inside the City Courts premises for filming them while searching a woman “inappropriately.”
June 07: Express Tribune senior journalist Rana Tanvir reports receiving “death threats” after unknown people made graffiti on his residence’s main door in Lahore on May 30.
June 09: Express Tribune senior journalist Rana Tanvir survives attempt on his life as unknown motorists tried to run him over in Lahore. The attack comes after “death threats” he received on May 30 this year.

June 10: An anti-terrorism court in Lahore sentenced Shia Muslim to death for “blasphemous content” on social media. June 11: Unidentified people target-killed young journalist Baksheesh Elahi, bureau chief of daily Kay2 newspaper in Haripur, in broad daylight on a street of Haripur city in northwestern Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province.
June 19: DSNG operator of Samaa TV channel Shariq Ishtiaq received bullet while covering celebrations of Pakistan team winning Champions Trophy final against India at residence of captain Sarfraz Ahmed.
June 20: National Assembly Standing Committee on Information, Broadcasting and National Heritage Tuesday directed early completion of consultation with all stakeholders on The Protection of Journalists Bill 2014.
June 25: Paramilitary force Frontier Corps takes away young journalist Zafarullah Achakzai, working for Qudrat newspaper, from his residence in Quetta, family said.
June 28: Federal Investigation Agency took custody of young journalist Zafraullah Achakzai from Frontier Corps paramilitary force which took away the journalist from his residence on June 25. June 27: Aaj News channel’s sports reporter Javed Iqbal was injured in Karachi while resisting snatching of mobile phone. His condition is out of danger.
