August 01: Law enforcement agencies carried out search operation at residence of Baluchistan Union of Journalists president Hamdullah Rind in Quetta city.
Aug 02: Senior journalist Talib Hussain Bhatti received legs and hands injuries after armed people attacked him in Khushab district of Punjab province. His son alleged the attackers were sent by a Punjab government minister after the journalist filed a story involving the minister.
Aug 08: Two TV cameramen – Shehzad Ahmed of Aaj TV and Mehmood Khan of DawnNews – were killed in suicide blast inside civil hospital in Quetta. Dunya News reporter Faridullah is injured.

Aug 22: Supporters of Muttahida Qaumi Movement attack Karachi Press Club, ARY News channel’s office and injuring two reports and four cameramen of six mainstream current affairs and news channels in Karachi after party leader Altaf Hussain accused media outlets of “being biased.”

Aug 27: Police arrest three women activists of MQM for alleged involvement in attack on ARY News channel’s office in Karachi on August 22, 2016.
Aug 28: 92News channel crew, including Satellite engineer, was attacked in Karachi while covering demolition of MQM part’s “illegal office” while mob also damaged the channel’s DSNG van, the channel reported.
Aug 28: PEMRA fines 13 TV channels for airing what electronic med regulator said “false news” about Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf leader Imran Khan’s third marriage. Each channel is fined Rs.0.5 million.
Aug 31: PEMRA chief Absar Alam told a news conference in Islamabad that his organization would crack down on illegal Indian D2H channels in Pakistan.
